The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Mississippi Silverbacks are the latest addition of the league’s record-setting expansion. “This has been an amazing year,” stated ABA CEO. “Since the implementation of Operation Upgrade and the addition of the ABAGALE TV Network (www.abagaleunlimited.com) and the ability to bring ABA basketball to millions of homes worldwide, interest in the ABA has grown dramatically. And we are very proud to have JoJuan Johnson as part of the ABA.”
JoJuan Johnson is a 36-year old father and entrepreneur and the owner of Real Meal Publishing, LLC, a company established in 2017 that specializes in music publishing, artist development and management. In 2020 he began his journey as a fashion designer launching a unique clothing brand “Young Goreala” which means “Great Ones Really Exemplifying a Living Asset.”
The mantra behind his brand was partially inspired by his childhood upbringing, his time as a collegiate football player at HBCU Alcorn State University (2004-2007) and his contribution as a youth coach in his community football league. Other inspirations were him wanting to motivate and brand great people worldwide.
“This is how I came up with the idea of launching a professional basketball team,” added Johnson. “It will give me the opportunity to provide our Mississippi communities with a new family-friendly source of entertainment while also helping to promote athletes and entertainers.”
With this platform, JoJuan hopes to encourage physical fitness, provide an outlet for the talented athletes, generate revenue for local businesses and bring another positive spotlight to the Mississippi sports ecosystem. For more information, email JoJuan at realmealpublishingllc@gmail.com
