The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Tri-City Warriors located in the Dallas TX metro area have joined the league and will begin play in November. “We are very excited to have Coach Barbara Davis as part of the ABA,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “She has a world of experience in professional basketball and will add a new dimension to the league.”
Coach Davis currently works full-time for Tarrant County College and founded Alpha Female League Inc, a 501c3 non profit organization. “I have a love for sports which began when I was nine years old,” added Ms. Davis. “I learned and gained my skills from former NBA star Danny Manning and my Big Sister from the Big Brother and Big Sister program, Lennette Woodard, the first female player for the Harlem Globetrotters.”
Coach Davis, a Breast Cancer Warrior, a single mother of four daughters, grandmother of nine, brings over 40 years of sports experience to the ABA, is ready to lead the Warriors and strengthen the community as well as raise funds for Breast Cancer research.
