The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added the Lincoln Cobras to its record-setting roster of expansion teams for the 2025-2026 season. “We are very pleased to have Zach Werkmeister as a new owner in the league,” stated ABA CEO, “he gained a great deal of experience as part of the staff of the 402 Elite in Omaha, a terrific team that made the final game of the Central Regionals as was ranked in the Top 25 of the ABA Power Rankings.”

“I’ve been working with athletes since I was 12,” added Werkmeister. “I’ve turned my passion for design into a career. What started up as small projects grew into a brand, connecting me with players at all levels. Along the way, I also stepped into coaching as an assistant with the 402 Elite, growing even more insight into the game. Over time, my creativity and business mindset led me to a bigger vision – owning an ABA basketball team. Now, as both a graphic designer and a team owner, I get to blend artistry with leadership, building something that represents my journey and the athletes I’ve worked with along the way.
