The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced the launching of a new company, ABA Media & Entertainment, which will oversee a variety of media and entertainment initiatives for its 25th Anniversary Season which begins in November. “This is long overdue,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “We’ve been missing two important things – national TV coverage and live entertainment – and with the launching of this new company, we will achieve both starting with a Game of the Week on the Red Coral streaming network (www.redcoraluniverse.com).

ABA Media & Entertainment will be headed by Brian “Essince” Collins (owner of the ABA Akron Aviators) and the multi-platinum entertainment marketing firm, Royal Heir Entertainment. Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and adopted by a family in Ohio, Collins fell in love with basketball as a child. He began his music career at the age of 11 while continuing to play basketball. Collins studied abroad in Thailand while earning his BA in Audio Engineering and started for his university’s basketball team as well as designing their uniforms and acquiring sponsors.

He launched Royal Heir Entertainment in the fall of 2008 and has worked with major stars like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Big Sean, J Cole and others and co-promoted a major event for Pit Bull. “With multiple successful foreign tours, Critically-Acclaimed documentary work, Platinum Plaques, thirteen #1 Billboard achievements, 10+ #1 Digital Radio Tracker Awards, sold out shows across the country and more, Brian has continued to push for the integration of music and sports,” added Newman. “And when the ABA Game of the Week launches on Red Coral this fall, it will feature an all new way to watch sports on TV with AI operated cameras fusing music with sports, something sports fans have not seen before. Innovation is the heart and soul of the ABA.
