The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Kern County Mambas, under the ownership of Tim Carabajal and Victor Frison, are set to begin when the league resumes play in November. “We’re really happy to have Tim and Victor as part of the ABA,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “Both have excellent experience as owners of pro football teams and know what it takes to be successful, a great sense of business and community.”

“We’re bringing together the cities of Bakersfield, Delano, Wasco, Shafter, McFarland, Taft, Arvin and other cities in Central California,” added Carabajal. “That’s why we call the team Kern County and the name Mambas was created with the late great Kobe “Bean” Bryant in mind. Along with a county full of die hard Laker fans, the idea of excellence, hard work and dedication embodied what Kobe was.”

“Tim and I decided to take the term “Mamba Mentality” to heart, added Frison. “Putting together a pro basketball organizations that preaches toughness, accountability, commitment, family and winning; those four terms represent the culture of our organization.”
