The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Philly Thunder has been added to its record-setting expansion for the next season starting in November. “We are very excited about this team and its ownership,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “Barry J.T. Devine has a world of experience and knows what it takes to be successful on and off the court.”

Coach Devine brings over 25 years of Head Basketball coaching experience at the High School, AAU, College and Pro Levels, the most recent being the lead assistant coach at Rutgers University Camden. He has developed several current and past Division I players, many of which are playing professional basketball overseas today. He is also the Founding Program Director of “G2G” (Glory to God) Elite AAU Basketball in Philadelphia and a certified USA Basketball Coach and his youth team represented Pennsylvania at the East Coast Jr. NBA Nationals. Coach Devine’s son Kobe is playing college basketball at Rutgers U Camden; his daughter Krissi is the lead assistant coach at Rosemont University.

“This new ABA venture is sure to be a family affair of basketball excellence,” added Devine. “We exist to present opportunities and mentorship and aim to build relationships and be the bridge for bringing communities, basketball together in excellence.
