The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Seattle Mountaineers will be returning when the league resumes play in November. “It is great to have Don Sims and his team back,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “With the addition of the new Pac/NW Division covering states like Washington, Oregon, Idaho and others, it has improved the competition and reduced travel. The Mountaineers were a very important part of the ABA for many years and will be again. Welcome back Don.”

The Seattle Mountaineers have a storied history with the ABA in the early years of 2008-2013. They were one of the premiere teams in the ABA and during those early years traveled extensively across the US playing other top-notch ABA teams and also represented the ABA in China vs the Beijing Olympians. “We are very pleased to play in the newly formed Pac/NW Division and will work closely with Andy Swenson, the Pac/NW Division Chairman, to make it one of the best divisions in the ABA,” added Sims. “We’re excited to be back.”
