The American Basketball Association (ABA) has announced that the Winston-Salem Cardinals are the latest team to join the ABA, the largest professional sports league in the US. “We keep growing as more and more fans are recognizing the difference between ABA basketball with its unique rules and other basketball,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “These are exciting times indeed.”

The Winston-Salem Cardinals will be Jedadiah Bridges, former head coach of the ABA’s Carolina Kings. A native of Reidsville NC and the eldest son of Jesse and Rev. Robin Bridges, he and his siblings were all athletes at Reidsville High School. “I really want to thanks the Carolina Kings organization for the opportunity and everything they did for me leading to ownership of my own team,” added Bridges. “I am a man of integrity and morals and that is exactly what I bring to the table as an owner. Being part of a team is just like being part of a family. Nothing succeeds like success; failure is not an option.”
