The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Promote P.E.A.C.E Divine 9 Channel has been added to ABAGALE TV, the league’s streaming network and will launch in early 2023. The Divine 9 is a group of nine historically black Greek fraternities and sororities (Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc; Kappa Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc; OMEGA PSI PHI Fraternity, Inc; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc; Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc; Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc; Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.)

These organizations have a rich history and are a vital part of the African-American community with membership totaling nearly 4 million people worldwide. The Devine 9 Channel will give members a platform to showcase their greatness, activities and events. The channel will also give members a space to advertise their businesses and services helping to support proper education and cooperative economics. Content will highlight the achievements and contributions of the finest educators, business executives, scientists, doctors, engineers, poets, actors, entertainers, politicians and athletes who are members of Divine 9.

The Divine 9 Channel will be directed by K. Tracy “Coach Tre” Bell, a retired firefighter and youth coach from West Philadelphia. Coach Tre attended Community College of Philadelphia, Kansas University and Temple University where he studied computer science before joining the US Air Force as a firefighter. He is also a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, a member of Prince Hall Mason, a Shriner and founder of the Promote P.E.A.C.E. Challenge, a program designed to help young people aged 16-35 develop a prosperity mindset with a focus on friendship, community and capital development.

“We are very excited about this opportunity,” stated Coach Tre. “With a reach of over 65 million households through ABAGALE’s Roku platform, the Divine 9 no longer will have to wait for major networks to showcase Divine 9’s impact on their communities. In fact, we’ll be able to show the world what great contributions that HBCU graduates make in every area of our lives.
