The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Connecticut Flyeerz have been added to the league’s record-setting number of expansion teams for the upcoming season. “If a love of basketball is one of the criteria for owning a professional basketball team, then Michael Otero certainly fits the bill,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “Michael started playing basketball at the age of 6 and played varsity basketball for Sci-Tech High School – and his passion for the game has continued to grow.”
Otero is a Springfield MA native and is currently a carpenter. “I’m grateful to have this opportunity to bring a pro team into Connecticut,” added Otero. “With the Flyeerz, our goal is to get these young athletes to be seen and hopefully signed by the G-League or overseas. Watch out for the Flyeerz, we are hear to make noise.”
