The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Goldsboro Wings have been added to its record-setting expansion and will begin play in November. “We are very pleased to have Jason Lampa as team owner and head coach,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “Jason played college basketball at Northwood University as well as 5 years of professional basketball and was formerly an assistant coach at Seton Hall University.”

Applying his MBA on Wall Street representing such firms as Citigroup and Oppenheimer Fund, he currently owns a State Farm Agency in Wilson, NC and is involved with youth basketball at the Goldsboro YMCA. “The citizens of Goldsboro embraced the idea of having an ABA team immediately,” added Lampa. “The leaders in the community know the ABA and are familiar with the second chapter of the league since 2000.”

The GM and head of player personnel is Raytrell Caldwell, a nationally recognized leader of young men and women. Prior to his leadership role at the Goldsboro YMCA, he was teen director at the Royall Avenue Boys & Girls Club in Goldsboro and achieved national recognition by winning the Youth Development Professional of the Year Award and a $10,000 prize for the club.
