The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Milwaukee Black Mambas have been added to the record-setting expansion for the upcoming season that starts in November. “We are very excited to have Dr. Veronica Gaffney and her team in the ABA,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “I’ve known Dr. Gaffney for several years; she has an extraordinary background and should be a great owner.”

A native of Chicago, Dr. Gaffney has an extensive background in the field of business administration and earned her Doctorate Degree in 2023. She has been involved in several fields including real estate, mortgage processing, NFP Executive Administrator, grant writing, and law. Dr. Gaffney is a Board Member of Bethlehem Healing Temple in Gary, IN, is President of Watch Out Beverage & Bakery, Humphrey Watson Consultant and Agape Community Resource Center in Chicago. “Mr. Newman and I have been speaking about my doing an ABA team for several years,” added Dr. Gaffney. “Watching the league grow as it has and the implementation of Operation Upgrade were key to my decision to join with Jason Gaffney to do two ABA teams starting this season. We are really looking forward to the challenge.”
