The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Naperville Wiseguys have been added to the league’s roster of teams for the upcoming season. “We are very pleased to have Keith Johnson as part of the ABA,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “A former NBA player with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat, Keith certainly brings a lot of additional excitement to the league.”

Keith has played basketball for most of his life. “I played basketball at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Chicago where we were City, State and National Champions (32-0),” added Johnson. “I went on to play junior college basketball at Lake Land College where I was All-American for two years before going to New Mexico State where I led the team in assists and steals both years prior to joining the NBA. After my basketball career, I started a clothing line (I’m Born and Raised) and Bankroll Ambition (a business consultant group) and also teamed up my current business partners to open several restaurants (Tavern Hospitality Group), throughout the Midwest. As a child, one of my dreams was to own a professional basketball team and when I was presented with this amazing ABA opportunity, I was very excited. I must say, this is truly a dream come true for me. My goal for the Wiseguys is to create a family friendly atmosphere where kids and adults can enjoy the game of basketball a and have a team of their own that they can be proud of. I also plan to create the best product the ABA can offer.”
