The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the South Atlanta Crows have been added to the powerful Southeast Division and will begin play when the new season begins in November. “We’re very pleased to have Monterrio
Moore as an owner after many years as an ABA player,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “We have several former players as owners and they have proven themselves well off the court; a natural progression from the court to the office.”
Monterrio graduated from Benjamin E. Mays High School after transferring from-Cities High School. While playing in various Atlanta recreation leagues, he tried out for an ABA team and has played in the league for several ABA teams for over 9 years and has played internationally in Greece where he won a Championship Ring. “After all this time, I feel it would only be fitting to move forward in my career as an owner,” added Moore. “And I want to help carry on the legacy of one of my mentors, Ralph Presley, who passed away last year. Coach Presley really inspired me.”
