The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added the 413 Elite located in Springfield, MA, the city that holds the title for being the “Birthplace of Basketball” and the home of the Basketball Hall of Fame.” We are very excited to have Charles Evans and his team as part of the ABA,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “They will be a great addition to our Northeast Region – and I am sure that the competition between the Herkimer Originals, which also claims the title of “Birthplace of Basketball,” will be something very special.”

Evans is a native of Springfield where he attended the High School of Science and Technology before going onto play basketball for Holyoke Community College and Edward Waters College in Jacksonville FL.  He went on to play for 10 years professionally in Europe before returning to the US to play and be Asst Coach of the ABA Nassau Pride.

“The goal of the 413 Elit3e is to provide quality entertainment and affordable professional basketball in a friendly and safe environment,: added Evans.  “We want to electrify Springfield and bring back the spirit of basketball-life from the neighborhood.”
