The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it is returning to Shreveport/Bossier LA with the addition of the Shreveport/Bossier Knights. “We have nothing but the fondest memories of Shreveport/Bossier,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “It was the home of the former ABA Champion Shreveport Mavericks which decided to move to another league and we have certainly wanted to return ever since. And we have a terrific owner in Dr. Pope whose mission has always been to help young men and women from various backgrounds to achieve their goals and dreams.”

“Creating opportunities on and off the court is what I do and I plan to make the Knights an integral part of the community and return ABA professional basketball here to its former glory,” added Dr. Pope. “We have some big shoes to fill and are excited for this opportunity.”
