The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it will be launch two new summer leagues under the banner of ABA Elite Summer League. “This is unlike anything we’ve ever attempted,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “First, we wanted to have some organized summer basketball following the regular ABA season and we also wanted to have an organized program for players over forty years old.

Deanna E. Green has been named CEO of ABA Elite Summer League. She is currently the owner of the ABA SBC Elite in Fredericksburg VA. Deanna is a former Registered Nurse, owns 4 companies and 2 organizations, produces professional golf tournaments and is a well-known fashion designer. Deanna will be assisted by her son, Avery Green, a former international basketball player, team and business owner including IWTH Athletes, a fitness training program.

“This is about leadership, sponsorships, staff, media, concerts, combines, recruiting teams – developing
cash money tournaments, a whole host of unique basketball opportunities,” added Ms. Green.  “We hope to
launch in the Mid-Atlantic region and take the program across the country as quickly as we can.  We’ll be
doing 3 on 3 basketball, league and tournament formats, the ABA’s First to Fifty format and other innovative
things that will make the ABA even more inclusive than it is.”
