The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that Greg Brown has been named President
of the league and will begin his responsibilities immediately.  “Greg is the perfect person to assume this leadership role,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman.  “He has been a successful team owner (Baltimore Hawks) for many years, the Division Chairmen of the Mid-Atlantic Division and one of the driving forces behind Operation Upgrade, a dynamic program designed to move the ABA to a new higher level, He is also a Lieutenant on the Baltimore police force and an NBA/NFL agent.  I’m very excited to have him serving in this role,”
Among other areas of responsibility will be overseeing Operation Upgrade, developing media/sponsorship relationships, working with the various ABA divisions and Division Chairmen, and handling many of the day-to-day activities of the league.  “The league is growing rapidly and as a result, the opportunities being presented to the ABA are incredible,” added Brown.
“One of my goals will be to help maximize the potential of this great league.  We have so much going on in the US and internationally. I am truly honored that Joe has chosen me to serve as President and I am looking forward to the challenge.”
