The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Kissimmee Lambs will begin playing starting in November. “This is a very special team,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “They are committed to supporting local talent in Central Florida and giving them the opportunity at a professional level and so much more. The Lambs are a great addition to the ABA.”

The team will be co-owned by Edgar A. Vasquez, Chairman of the Board of the IGCK Educational Center and Pastor of the Central Baptist Church of Kissimmee and Benjamin Gonzalez, an Electrical Engineer specializing in automation and controls with 20+ years of PLC controls designing and programming experience. “We have players of all racial ethnicities, and we promote the complete development of players spirituality, emotionally, physically, socially, economically and family,” added Vasquez. “We also provide educational programs at university level for the benefit of all those who participate in our programs.”

Of special note, Pastor/Coach Vasquez actively helped the Venezuelan Basketball League in the US. LVU is a community that helps and welcomes all professional and amateur Venezuelan players living in the US and abroad. LVU’s purpose is to help Venezuelans around the nation to organize a national tournament once a year with the expectation of 16 or more delegations from different areas to participate. In turn, this effort will promote the integration of players who did not have the opportunity to play professionally in Venezuela due to the political and humanitarian crisis that exists in Venezuela.
