The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added the Mass Wolves to its powerful Northeast Division.  “We are really excited to have Adam Blake, a former ABA player, back in the league,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman.  “Adam has been an eight year college coach, seven years at UMASS Boston and one year at Franklin Pierce University following his playing career.   Adam also played minor league football in the New England area and Washington DC, and some Arena Football in Maryland “. He is going to do a great job with his team in Southeastern Massachusetts.”

“I enjoy coaching college.” Added Blake “But being able to get back to a minor league level means the most to me. They were my favorite times. Because this level can be a continuation of your success that you want to keep going with, or it can be a new beginning for some players. Regardless of the reason though, anybody who decides to pursue a pro career is 100% focused, locked in on their goals and handling their own business for themselves. There’s not much else to it. It’s no nonsense. There’s no fake players out here trying to play pro. It’s real, but it’s simple. That’s what I like most about it.

I didn’t get to grow up around here. But I call this area home. The Southeastern Massachusetts area is a very tough, hardworking, and talented area.  I want to give players the opportunity to continue their basketball careers after college.  The ABA is an incredibly talented and professionally run league that gives players every opportunity to achieve their goals and I can’t wait to get it going.”
