The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Saratoga Racers located in upstate NY have been added to the already record-setting expansion for the 2024-2025 season. “The interest in the ABA is truly remarkable much of which is the result of Operation Upgrade which is making the ABA experience better than ever,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. We’re really pleased to Mike and Keith as part of the ABA; they bring a lot of experience to the league and I have no doubt that they will be successful on and off the court.”

Keith Harrington, one of the Racers co-owners has been with the ABA Bennington Martens as their play-by-play announcer for 3 seasons. He was also Director of Communications and Media for the Glens Falls Dragons minor league baseball team and has been in sports media for nearly 40 years beginning in the mid-80s with the Glens Falls White Sox, the Class AA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and also the founder of Vermont Vipers Football, a successful youth program. Keith has been an educator, coach and athletic director for the last 30 years. “Being part-owner of the Saratoga Racers is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream,” added Harrington. “I can’t wait to bring the excitement of ABA basketball to the Saratoga/Glens Falls market.”

Mike James, the other co-owner, is a 2008 graduate of Saratoga High School who now works for Spectrum and announces sports in his free time. “I enjoy horse racing and the New York Yankees,” said James. “Basketball is becoming my new love and I am looking forward with Keith to bring basketball back to Saratoga.
