The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Texas Outlaws have been added to the record-setting expansion and will begin play in November. “This team is co-owned by five very experienced young men,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “They bring a world of basketball and business experience with them and should be an outstanding team on and off the court.”

Kevin Williams Sr. is the President of Basketball Operations, the owner of New Era Sports Management LLC, an Athlete Marketing Firm and CEO of New Sports Production Company.

Jarred Smith is the General Manager, a graduate of the U of Texas @ San Antonio, received his BBA in Information Systems. “This is an historic moment as we become the first professional basketball team in the Pasadena/Clear Lake area,” added Smith. “Our goal is to give these athletes an opportunity for exposure thru the ABA and international tours during the ABA off-season. We are looking forward to the challenge of competing for championships, impacting the community and helping our athletes get the recognition they deserve and jumpstarting their pro basketball careers.

Marston Jefferson has been involved in the sports and entertainment industry for over 15 years. A graduate of U of Houston with a Masters in Sports Administration, he has worked in game operations for several professional teams including the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Texans.

Lenard Taylor attended Jarvis Christian College on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and has been certified in athletic administration by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).
