The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Winnermucca Golddiggers have been added to the growing list of expansion teams for the 2024-2025 season. “Winnermucca is a fast growing city in Northeast Nevada,” stated ABA CEO. “We are trying to grow the division that includes Nevada, Idaho, and Utah and this will be a great help doing that with an owner with quite a background.
The team will owned by Frank Beard of Buffalo NY who is relocating to Winnermucca. For the past 20 years, Frank has been involved with community service in Buffalo and has helped the City of Buffalo in its rebuilding process. He is a member of the Citizens Alliance of Buffalo and is very involved with the healthcare industry there.
“My next step is to build not just a winning team in Winnermucker,” added Beard, “but to turn my 40 acres of land there into the home of the Winnermucker Golddiggers with a new basketball venue – and compete for the ABA Championship.”
